Black Ops 7 Zombies: TEDD Returns, NO Zombies for TWO years, release date & More (COD 2027 SHgames next game and BO7 Zombies leaks) Thinking more about it, Zombies definitely should not be in ANY Non-Treyarch Call of Duty game, regardless of if the main studios or if Treyarch are making it. Here's why: The fact is, every time we have seen it, they haven't been supported well enough. Exo Zombies: Never planned for the main game and so was scraped together by Raven in a short time period just to boost season pass sales. It tried new things but ultimately was "too different" and had mechanics many deemed to be "annoying" so ultimately failed. Despite this, it did seem to retain a player base post-launch and had a high budget consistently (see the CGI cutscenes, for example). I think this was just because it was the first non-Treyarch zombies mode, and so Activision were willing to throw a lot more money at it to try and make it succeed because it was the first attempt. And as the first non Treyarch zombies, people stuck more with it post launch than they would do for future attempts. Infinite Warfare Zombies: people look back in hindsight and now like Zombies in Spaceland and to a lesser extent, Rave in the Redwoods (I personally like it better), but no one really cares for the rest of the DLC. The quality got worse and worse as the season continued, most fans dipped and didn't care for it, and there were clear budget issues. World War II Zombies: The Final Reich was a solid launch map but again, the quality and community interest dipped off so much post launch and again, there were clear budget issues. Vanguard Zombies: Scraped together in a matter of months. The most barebones release ever. Shi No Numa Reborn is the only real standout, and come The Archon, they literally just re-released a map with a different filter (still fun and cool boss btw) but ends up feeling like custom zombies and not the quality we're used to from Treyarch. Modern Warfare Zombies: Unique concept and solid launch, but again Treyarch made it in about a year. With less time, they had to step off post-launch to focus on Black Ops 6 Zombies so it didn't get adequate support. Conclusion: every non Treyarch release zombies game has underperformed. Every single one has not been given the resources to survive throughout the post launch (or even launch, in the case of Vanguard). Every single one has had less dev time and rushed developments. All of these experiences have done nothing but taint the zombies brand and have taken Treyarch resources and devs away from focusing on their main experiences, in the case of the last two. Imagine how much better Black Ops 6 Zombies would be if they weren't making BO7, Vanguard, and Modern Warfare 3 Zombies simultaneously? Therefore, other studios should only focus on making new CO-OP experiences. DMZ saw mild success in trying something new and proves there's potential for other modes out there. Yes, it's likely many ideas won't perform well enough to be continued (like Extinction) but it creates the chance for a new spark in the bottle moment, like Zombies was initially. There's more chance there for something landing well enough than another studio doing zombies. I don't think Zombies in a non Treyarch game will ever be successful enough. It's been tried 5x now and has not once worked. I understand why people want it; they often hold onto the hope that "it'll be different this time", "they just need better support"... but, after 5 times, that day will likely never come.
